Dental Crowns

Restoring broken teeth is one of the main uses of dental crowns. When a severe crack or extensive dental work weakens the structure of a tooth, a dental crown can be placed over the tooth for protection. At Clover Smile Studio, we offer durable crowns, as a general dental treatment, that can be created from white materials, like porcelain, to restore teeth that blend naturally with the rest of your smile.

Restore Cracked or Damaged Teeth

While minor damage to teeth can be repaired at our office using fillings or dental bonding, more substantial repairs may require a dental crown. We use advanced imaging and impressions of the tooth to design a new covering. Crowns can be made from metals like gold or silver, but many people prefer porcelain that matches the color of their natural teeth. Once the crown is made in a dental lab, it can be bonded into place, lasting for years to repair damaged teeth and restore them to function.

Dental Inlays and Onlays

Two other options for tooth repairs are porcelain inlays and onlays. Like dental crowns, inlays and onlays are formed to fit on top of the tooth surface, created in a dental lab. These options are best suited for teeth that have damage on one portion of the tooth, such as a side or the top cusp. The porcelain covering is bonded in place, adding strength and protection to a damaged tooth, yet it is almost unnoticeable due to the white color.

In addition to dental repairs, we use dental crowns for creating dental bridges to replace missing teeth and in our dental implants. Crowns can also be used for cosmetic purposes.
