Share Your Medical History
It's crucial to provide your full medical history before any surgical procedure. Dr. Shah needs to know about any chronic conditions, allergies, or medications that could affect how you respond to anesthesia or how your body heals. This includes heart problems, diabetes, artificial joints, recent surgeries, and especially the use of blood thinners like aspirin, Plavix, or Coumadin.
Pre-Medication Instructions
If you've been prescribed antibiotics or anti-anxiety medications, it's important to take them exactly as instructed. Do not alter the dose or schedule unless directed by your healthcare provider. These medications are given to reduce infection risk and make you feel more comfortable before your visit.
